Balkand Doha 50 - Unresolved Suspicion
Unresolved suspicion is the cause of the break-up of any great relationship. When in doubt ask questions, seek answers. Do not believe in hear-say, or tales from the past. Ask someone who knows. There are many great scholars and knolwdgeable people around you. They may look like idiots but underneath the façade there is a wealth of knowledge.
Mata Sati saw the two banwaasi princes walking around in desolation, running around asking everybody and anybody, everything and anything.
“He Khag Mrig He Madhukar Shreni, Tum Dekhi Sita Mrig Naini”
She is confused. She knows that Shiv Ji cannot and does not tell lies, BUT, this prince in the forest cannot be God. This confusion breeds suspicion in Sati’s mind, and this marks the beginning of the end of her relationship with Shiv Ji.

संभु समय तेहि रामहि देखा। उपजा हियँ अति हरषु बिसेषा।।
भरि लोचन छबिसिंधु निहारी। कुसमय जानिन कीन्हि चिन्हारी।।
Sambhu (Shiv Ji) samay tehi (that time) Ram hi dekha (saw Shri Ram); Upja (Flourished, born) hiya (heart) ati (a lot, great) harashu (Delight, cheer) bisekha (special, unique, unlimited)
Bhari lochan (to the eyes’(heart’s) satisfaction) Chabi-Sindhu (beautiful body, great figure) nihaari (look with keen interest); Ku-samay (inappropriate time) jaani (knew) na keenhi (did not do) chinhaari (introduction).


जय सच्चिदानंद जग पावन। अस कहि चलेउ मनोज नसावन।।
चले जात सिव सती समेता। पुनि पुनि पुलकत कृपानिकेता।।
Jay Sachidanand (Prabhu) jag paawan (cleanser of evils); As kahi (in saying so) chaleu (walks away) Manoj (Kaam Deo’s) nasaawan (destroyer).
Chale jaat Shiv Sati sameta (Shiv & Sati are walking together) ; Puni Puni (baar baar) Pulkat (ecstatic body) Kripa Niketa (daya sagar). Both are together but only Shiv Ji is feeling the Parmanand, Mata ne to katha suna hi nahi, Kumbhaj Rishi se.

Sachidanand = Sat + Chit + Anand
Sat = Existence, Truth
Chit = Conscience, Inner voice
Anand = Eternal bliss, unending happiness
God is referred to as Sachidanand. He has the ability to give us eternal peace. Once you install Him in your conscience, you will achieve unending happiness, Param Anand.

सतीं सो दसा संभु कै देखी। उर उपजा संदेहु बिसेषी।।
संकरु जगतबंद्य जगदीसा। सुर नर मुनि सब नावत सीसा।।
Sati (Mata) so dasaa (cheerful elated frame of mind)  Sambhu ke (Shiv Ji’s) dekhi (saw); Ur (in her heart) upja (grew) sandehu bisekhi (a huge seed of suspicion).
Sankaru (Shiv Ji) jagat Banday (The whole world prays to Him, respects Him) Jagdisa (Lord of the universe); Sur (Devta) nar (Humans) muni (gyaani) sab (all) naawat seesa (bow to Him).

तिन्ह नृपसुतहि नह परनामा। कहि सच्चिदानंद परधामा।।
भए मगन छबि तासु बिलोकी। अजहुँ प्रीति उर रहति न रोकी।।
Tinh (Shiv Ji) nripa (King’s) sutahi (children, princes)  nah parnaama (bowed to); Kahi (words of) Sachidanand (God) pardhama (Paramdhaam, above all, absolute truth).
Bhaye (became) magan (fascinated) chabi (image) taasu  (God’s ) biloki (seeing); Ajahu (up till now, still) priti (love for God) ur (heart) rahti  na (unable to) roki (hide).
दो0-ब्रह्म जो व्यापक बिरज अज अकल अनीह अभेद।
सो कि देह धरि होइ नर जाहि न जानत वेद।। 1/50।।
Brahma (God) jo (who is) vyapak (omni-present) biraj (pure) aj (ajanma, without a beginning or end), akal (Without any single art, or any good qualities) aneeh (indifferent, detached)  abhed (non-discriminating);
So ki (how could  He) deh dhari (body form) hoi (become) nara (a human), jaahi (Whom) na (is unable) jaanat (know, understand) Ved.

Akal come from akala or Kala rahit, without kala. Similar to Agun – without any single gun or art, unable to do anything. Later we’ll see Shiv Ji is described as “Agun Amaan Maat Pitu Heena”. By describing God as Agun or someone who cannot do any single thing, what Tulsidas is really saying is “He does not do any one thing, but He does everything. He is perfect in every art.

Any anomalies in these attempted translations are not meant to confuse you, but an indication of a lack of knowledge on my part. Please correct it and use as you may see appropriate.
